A child exploring food at an outdoor table

Food is more
than nourishment.

Feeding can feel complicated. You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Behavioural feeding support looks at the skills, routines and experiences around eating. We work together to understand what is happening for your child and build an individualized plan that honours your family’s priorities, culture and relationship with food.

Progress can look different for every child—from feeling more comfortable around a food to learning a new feeding skill. We’ll celebrate the steps that matter to your family.

How We Support Families

Rooted supports children with feeding challenges, including selective eating and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). We help children build feeding skills and feel more comfortable exploring food.

Through evidence-based practice, play, and collaboration, we work toward meaningful goals in individualized, achievable steps. Your child’s comfort and participation guide the process, with caregiver support woven throughout to help learning carry into everyday meals.

Our Story

Why Rooted

Rooted in behaviour analysis, culture, and connection.

The name Rooted reflects both our foundations and our capacity for growth. Every child and family has their own roots—their traditions, experiences, and ways of coming together around food. We believe feeding support should honour those roots while making room for new possibilities.

Food is more than nourishment. It is connection, culture, and the moments that bring families together. This belief is at the heart of Rooted and the support we offer.

Our aim is to...

To make room for every child to experience food, growth, and connection in a way that honours who they are.

Meet Megan, Founder

I’m Megan, a Registered Behaviour Analyst (Ont.) with a practice focus in paediatric feeding. I bring more than 13 years of experience supporting neurodivergent children and families, including extensive experience with food selectivity and caregiver training.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis–Autism from Capilano University and am currently completing a Master of Professional Education in Applied Behaviour Analysis at Western University.

After five years working in paediatric feeding in British Columbia, I moved to Toronto and founded Rooted to help make individualized feeding support more accessible to families across Toronto and the GTA.

I believe feeding support should make room for the whole child and the family around them. That starts with understanding what your child enjoys, how they communicate, and what meals look like in your home.

“I started Rooted because every child deserves to be understood, respected, and supported as an individual, and because every family deserves to feel welcomed at the table.”
